Mini Science TY programme 2020

Thirty students from Dublin, the midlands and Galway came to the RCSI to experience what it is like to be a student in RCSI and what it is like to work as a Biomedical Researcher. This year we had a person from Admissions talking about CAO points and tips for the HPAT  and the undergraduate courses available in RCSI as well as an amazing talk from Dr Gary Brennan on his research on Epilepsy. Prof Kevin Mc Guigan was great at giving his talk on Solar Disinfection. And we had several workshops that spanned Communication skills to Research ethics. Work in the lab was intertwined into the three days which gave students a small flavor of  laboratory skills as well as getting an opportunity to extract their own DNA. Again thanks to all RCSI staff that were involved in making this happen. Dr Marion Hogg, Dr Janosh Heller, Ms Luise Halang, Dr Darren Griffith, Prof. Kevin Mc Guigan, Dr Gary Brennan, Dr.Laura De Diego Garcia, Dr Isabela Aparicio, Ms Celeste Colden, Dr Orla Watters, Mr James Morgan, Dr Aida Menendez Mendez, Ms Giorgia Conte,  Dr Jaideep Cherakka Kesavan and Mr Frank Donegan.
